Madonna Series
“ Madonna Series”
The “Madonna” series are textile assemblage portraits created by the artist to immortalize women throughout history that have positively impacted the world. In these portraits she has carefully selected individuals who have not only touched her life, but the entire world. The selected subjects, from the past and the present, are depicted in a classic iconographic style. Renaissance, and Baroque Madonna’s depict the Virgin Mary as a virtuous, saintly woman, who deserves the respect of the viewer. Lettire believes that the chosen women in her series deserve the same distinction. In each portrait symbols within the Madonna's Halo and in the background speak to each woman’s accomplishments and unique qualities. Art is a powerful way for an individual to communicate and by creating the “Madonna” series the artist has spoken of these women’s social relevance.

“ Heroes of the Holocaust Series”
The “ Heroes of the Holocaust” series are textile assemblage portraits. The subjects of which are individuals who created artworks during the Holocaust. Each of these “Heroes” were victims of the systematic persecution and genocide perpetrated by the Nazi’s during WWII. These activists created their art for various reasons, but all chose to do so at great personal risk to their lives. Some of the featured artists survived the Shoah, while many of them did not. The portraits in this series have been created to honor these fearless creatives, to assure that their voices, and vision, are heard and seen, and that their lives will not go unnoticed. Their art will tell their tale, and be a testament to their bravery, and creativity.
